What a way to start off the retreat. Day one started with the Pura Kehen Temple and
Tukad Cepung Waterfalls. The Pura Kehen Temple is a Balinese Hindu temple dating back to the 9th century. The name Kehen is derived from the Balinese word “keen” which means “flame”. It is connected to the Brahmans (who maintain the temple) and Hyang Agni “God of fire”. In class we learn all about the Dewa of Brahma (fire), so this was a perfect start to the retreat.
Next we were off to the Tukad Cepung waterfalls. After a beautiful hike down to the falls through the forest, we arrived at the majestic waters. We played and smashed and felt the thunderous rush of the falls on our heads. We explored the caves too and had an all around refreshing cleanse to kick things off.
We concluded our day with a beautiful dinner at the private resort. Delicious food, speeches, dancers, live music and love.
Fire and Water Day was our first day and our last day of the retreat. We celebrated three elements of the Trimurti both times. FIRE, WATER AND LOVE.
